WHO ARE WE?
We are governed by a volunteer board of directors including a membership
of over 16 agencies, organizations, and individuals.
The Lloydminster Learning Council Association believes that people
need opportunities for lifelong learning in order to enhance quality
of life. The goals of the association are:
To offer a coordinated, comprehensive program of part-time,
non-credit educational experiences
To identify educational needs within the City of Lloydminster
and the immediate vacinity
To identify available community and provincial resources
which would be useful to the LLCA mandate
To encourage interagency cooperation and coordination
in further education programming
To promote a positive image of the LLCA in the community
PROGRAMS
The Lloydminster Learning Council Association provides a variety
of programming including:
Community Access Project: provides hands-on Internet training
and access
Web-Page Design: provides services for member agencies
and non-profit organizations
Special Projects such as Rural Innovation & Access
Programming: including Arts and Crafts, Personal Development,
Fitness, Career Enhancement, Health & Wellness, Languages,
Horticultural, etc.
Community Learning Centre - provides On-line learning
via high speed Internet
LEARN Program (Literacy Education and Reading Network):
- Volunteer Tutor Program
- ESL (English as a Second Language)
- Family Literacy (Books for Babies, 1-2-3 Rhyme With Me, Come
Read With Me, Help Your Child Read and Write)
- Senior Programming
- Work Place Literacy
