This certificate
course is for adults who interact with youth and is designed to be
sensitive to the unique needs of young people ages 12 to 24. It is
meant to assist education professionals, health providers, parents
and other adults in the identification of mental health problems and
appropriate first aid intervention strategies. MHFA covers mental
health and illness, substance related disorders, mood disorders,
deliberate self-injury, anxiety, eating and psychotic disorders.
This credit course can be used in Education/Social Work/Nursing.
Participants must attend all 14 hours to receive a certificate.
Target Audience:
Members of the general
public, teachers, health service providers, and emergency workers,
frontline workers who deal with the public, volunteers, human
resource professionals, employers and community groups.
